NIHR Committee on Detention & Facilities Visitation Conducts an Inspection Visit to the Correction and Rehabilitation Centre in Jaw Region

In line with the NIHR’s broad mandate regarding the protection and promotion of human rights, and its competences by virtue of its Establishment Law, the NIHR Committee on Detention & Facilities Visitation has conducted an inspection visit to the Correction and Rehabilitation Centre in Jaw Region, in order to ensure that inmates enjoy all their prescribed rights in accordance with international standards and national human rights legislation.
During the visit, the NIHR delegation met with a number of inmates, listened to their requests and documented their notes to be filed to the competent authorities.
The NIHR delegation also reviewed the communication systems and ensured the quality and availability of food and living requirements.
